Dutch prosecutors will not pursue charges against Geert Wilders for Fitna… but Jordan’s charges are still pending.
Jordan gets on the bandwagon and opposes Wilders and Fitna. I wonder if Michael Moore feels lucky that he’s a U.S. citizen making films against his own country and not a Dutch citizen making films against radical Muslims. Follow the underlined link to read the full story and see Fitna.
Directors/producers out there: Seriously, is anyone making a movie out of this? You don’t even need a script, just a video editor. It’d be the easiest film to produce in the history of time–well, maybe besides Fitna.
Oh really? You know, Americans may not have appreciated Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11, but we sure didn’t murder him for it.
From JihadWatch:
“Dutch chief’s son killed in Afghanistan for ‘Fitna,’” from AFP (thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist):
The son of the Netherlands’ new military chief was killed by a bomb in southern Afghanistan on Friday, in what Taliban militants [...]
Jihadists are learning how to prey upon the politically correct American liberals. They understand, at least on some basic level, that they must assimilate in order to infiltrate the realms of the non-believers they plan to eradicate. Jihadists are starting to wage war on the terms of the typical liberal activist. It’s like they’re reading [...]
And that’s all you really have to know about it. Hot Air summarizes its irrelevance pretty well. I watched it just to say I’d watched it, but like the filmmaker wrote in the final passages, it’s easy to take the most violent passages out of a holy text and insert them out of context. So [...]
Oh so predictable. Muslims are doing more of the same: complaining about Fitna and Geert Wilders, threatening violence and trying for censorship. They must not see how hypocritical they sound, denouncing the Western world’s comments on Islam out of one side of their mouth while condemning non-Muslims out of the other side.
From Right Wing [...]
Well, here’s a significant update in the Geert Wilders litigation. From Hot Air:
Amazing, the things that are litigable these days. This wasn’t the public prosecution hinted at by the Dutch government last week but “merely” a private suit filed by the Netherlands Islamic Foundation to have criticism of Islam deemed an “incitement” under Dutch law and thereby worthy of [...]
Unbelievable. From NewsBusters:
“Good Morning America” reporter Nick Watt smeared Dutch filmmaker Geert Wilders as a racist on Saturday’s edition of the ABC program. Watt, who interviewed the director over his new movie about radical Islam’s incompatibility with Dutch culture, sneered, “You believe the Western Judeo Christian culture is superior. You believe immigration should be stopped. I [...]
You’ve gotta see this to believe it.
Here are the provisos of the petition, which can be found here at PetitionOnline.com.
To: The Dutch Government
WHEREAS Geert Wilders has exercised his fundamental human right of freedom of expression and spoken out, with facts and evidence, of the threat posed by radical Islam; WHEREAS certain elements within Islamic communities have threatened a boycott of Dutch goods if [...]
Blah blah blah. Nobody likes Fitna. From PajamasMedia:
Protests have instead been official. Iran and Pakistan lodged formal complaints — Iran with the European Union and Pakistan with the Dutch Ambassador to Islamabad — and as of this writing the anger is only growing. Other Islamic states and organizations also expressed outrage over the film. The multinational Islamic body and largest single [...]
From Haaretz.com [emphasis mine]:
The newly-released anti-Islam film by right-wing Dutch legislator Geert Wilders drew condemnations from the Netherlands’ Central Jewish Board, which Friday called the film’s focus on anti-Jewish preachings by Muslims “counterproductive” and “generalizing.” In keeping with Wilders’ belief in a Judeo-Christian partnership in the face of “the threat of Islam,” the 15-minute film, entitled “Fitna” - [...]
I’ve avoided posting about Fitna until I had time to watch the film and think about it thoroughly. On March 28, LiveLeak removed Fitna from their servers after receiving threats to their staff members and their families. The film has since been reinstated on the servers and can be viewed on the London-based LiveLeak site. [...]
