Hillary Clinton and Watergate

Many people my age aren’t aware that Hillary Clinton, then 27, was a member of the House Judiciary Committee’s Impeachment Inquiry staff in 1974, as Nixon was being investigated for his involvements in Watergate. Consider this article, written by Jerry Zeifman for Accuracy in Media. Zeifman was the Counsel to the House Judiciary Committee for nearly 20 years, and in 1974 held a supervisory role to the staff.OK, so Clinton acted curiously. Her actions were certainly unethical; even Zeifman says he should’ve reported her to the bar associations. How interesting that, as Glenn Thrush of the Chicago Tribune points out, “Sweet Home Alabama” was played at Clinton’s recent Ohio rally? It’s just a song, right? Sure it is.A song with the lyrics, “Watergate does not bother me, does your conscience bother you?” Apparently Clinton’s conscience doesn’t bother her.
